The design of the numbers used for this watch is the ancient “viya akuru” that had been used to make “thaana” letters, the letters of our native language.
The origin of these letters are assumed to date back to the 18th century where Al Sultan Mohamed Ghiyasuddin Siri Kularanmani Keerithi Mahaaradhun, had handwritten on “Raadha Valhi”.
During the manufacturing, considering the dial and other features of the watch, very minor changes had been brought to the design of the numbers. This is done so with the intention of making it more applicable to the modern designs and thus to embed a beautiful token of our history with the present time.
